Terms of Use
Pursely gives you estimates to help you understand your money. It is not financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Always check important decisions against official HMRC guidance or a qualified professional.
1. What Pursely is
Pursely is a UK personal-finance tool that estimates take-home pay, the effect of salary-sacrifice arrangements, what's left after your commitments, and illustrative pension outcomes, based on the figures you enter. It is a guidance tool, not a regulated financial-advice service. Pursely is for adults (18 or over) managing their own finances.
2. No advice
Nothing in Pursely is a personal recommendation. Pension projections use assumptions that you control and are illustrative only — actual outcomes will differ. You are responsible for decisions you make. If you need advice, consult a regulated adviser.
3. Accuracy and no warranty
We work hard to make Pursely's calculations accurate against published UK tax rules and to update them each tax year. However, tax law is complex and changes; individual circumstances vary; and we cannot guarantee that every figure is correct for your exact situation. Pursely is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.
4. Limitation of liability
Pursely's figures are estimates for general guidance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, Pursely or its estimates — including any financial decision you make on the basis of them. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so: this includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
5. Subscriptions
Pursely's take-home pay calculator is free. The remaining tools (what's left after your commitments, spending, pension and State Pension projections, salary-sacrifice and pay-rise comparisons) require Pursely Premium, an auto-renewing annual subscription of £14.99 per year (the price shown in the app may vary by region and is confirmed at purchase), which begins with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at £14.99/year unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. If you take the free trial and do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription, and any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
You manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), not within Pursely. All billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms; refund requests are made to Apple. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds directly.
6. Your responsibilities and acceptable use
You agree to use Pursely lawfully and to enter information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge — the quality of the estimates depends on the figures you provide. You agree not to misuse Pursely: in particular, not to use it for any unlawful purpose, not to attempt to interfere with or compromise its security or integrity, not to reverse-engineer or extract its tax-calculation logic, and not to use it to provide regulated financial advice or a paid service to others.
7. Intellectual property
Pursely, the Pursely name and logo, the app, this website and all their content and design are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use in line with these terms and the App Store's terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer or create derivative works from any part of Pursely except to the extent the law expressly permits.
8. The Apple App Store
Pursely is licensed to you, not sold. Your use is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement; where these terms and Apple's standard EULA conflict on the points it covers, Apple's EULA prevails. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Pursely, that any product-liability or legal claims about the app are between you and us (not Apple) except as Apple's terms provide, and that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
9. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes), are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction, and nothing in this clause removes any protection given to you by the mandatory law of your country of residence.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one posted on this page, with the date shown above. Your continued use of Pursely after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
